Project Wildeman
The 2nd of July 2010, Project Wildeman premiered at Over het IJ Festival in Amsterdam. The performance was a collaboration between Project Wildeman and Boukje Schweigman. The fifteenth floor of Toren Overhoeks (former Shell office) served with its fantastic view over the city, the perfect location and decor of Project Wildeman. Knowing how to scream, that’s what it’s all about.
With an energetic explosion of rhythm and poetry, pointy jungle idiom and compelling soundscapes, Project Wildeman and Boukje Schweigman create a contemporary ritual.
This musical ritual is the story of the Wildeman in the modern city. It deals with the increasingly erratic line between civilization and naturalization, looking for a balance between man and machine, body and concrete.
Project Wildeman creates a new language, a language of senses. A language that breathes, vibrates and screams.
In addition to the location performances at Over het IJ Festival, there was a tour along theaters and pop venues. The final direction of the reprise was in the hands of Ria Marks and Titus Tiel Groenestege.
